The Explored Galaxy

The location of Ingraham B on "The Explored Galaxy" wall chart

Ingraham B was an uninhabited planet. This was the homeworld of a warp capable species that went extinct. The planet was located in the Alpha Quadrant.

In 2265, the planet was invaded by neural parasites that came from Theta Cygni XII. The inhabitants of Ingraham B were all killed in the mass insanity caused by the parasites. A vessel of the last surviving infected departed from Ingraham B carrying the parasites with them. It arrived at the Deneva colony in 2267. (TOS: "Operation -- Annihilate!")

Its location in the Milky Way Galaxy was depicted on a Federation star chart in 2293. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, production art)

Background

"The Explored Galaxy" was a map of charted space in the Alpha Quadrant. Ingraham B was located between the Tholian Assembly and Romulus. Both locations were identified in DS9: "The Search, Part II", "Call to Arms" as being located in this quadrant. The chart was also seen in several Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes set in the 24th century, from the year 2364 to 2370. These were TNG: "Conspiracy", "The Measure Of A Man", "The Emissary", "The Mind's Eye", "The Game", and DS9: "In the Hands of the Prophets", "Cardassians".

Apocrypha

According to the novel Losing the Peace, after the incident with the neural parasites, Denevan leaders created an emergency plan to evacuate citizens to Ingraham B in the event of a similar worldwide crisis. This plan was put into motion when Deneva was attacked and annihilated by the Borg Collective during their 2381 invasion of the Alpha Quadrant, saving the lives of thousands of Denevans.
