Interstellar phenomena forecast is a report which provides information on the movement and location of interstellar phenomena, such as passing pulsars.
In 2376, Federation space station Deep Space 9 predicted that a pulsar would pass close to the MIDAS array. By firing a tachyon beam at the pulsar, Pathfinder Project was able to create a micro-wormhole through which they made contact with USS Voyager 30,000 light years away in the Delta Quadrant for a brief period. (VOY: "Pathfinder")
- Interestingly, this is the only present (2376) mention of Deep Space 9 since Star Trek: Deep Space Nine concluded in the year 2375. It was mentioned one last time in a 2000 episode of Star Trek: Voyager, "Fury", but that episode was set mainly in 2371.
