Background information[]

Star Trek: The Magazine Volume 1, Issue 13, p. 32, featured a briefing on deck one of Voyager, noting deck one was "served by a single turboshaft which opens onto the bridge", with a standby turbocar accessible through the corridor leading from the ready room behind the bridge, as well as two escape pods, space suit lockers, a small office area, a weapons locker, and an airlock.
