An isolation suit is a type of clothing used by the Federation Starfleet. It is equipped with a cloaking device, which make the person wearing it practically invisible, except to properly equipped monitoring stations. Starfleet uses isolation suits when observing a pre-warp civilization in order to prevent cultural contamination, in accordance with the Prime Directive. (Star Trek: Insurrection)
