Under his command, the vessel visited the Lunar receiving base on Earth's moon, and was due to arrive at Deep Space 9 on stardate 47562.0, according to an arrival roster recorded in that station's library computer. (DS9: "Whispers")

J.J. Adams was the name of the spaceship commander played by Leslie Nielsen in the classic science fiction film Forbidden Planet (1956). His name was not mentioned in dialog, but was simply listed in an okudagram graphic of an arrival roster on a viewscreen. The graphic was also populated by a number of other in-jokes.
