Nurse Jabara was a female Bajoran in the Bajoran Militia in the 24th century. She was assigned to Deep Space 9 with Starfleet personnel and served as a medical assistant to Doctor Julian Bashir.

In 2369, she assisted Bashir in treating Miles O'Brien who suffered from the aphasia virus. In the re-built hospital, located in empty crew quarters, she coordinated all the other infected and cared especially for Jake Sisko. Jabara diagnosed the high fever of O'Brien after she was informed by Jake and Jadzia Dax. (DS9: "Babel")

In 2370, she assisted Bashir briefly with Benjamin Sisko's headache. Later, she assisted again in reviving Elim Garak after he collapsed in his quarters. Following orders from Bashir, she administered twenty ccs of hyperzine into Garak and used a cardio-stimulator on him. Then, while Bashir was comparing blood samples, determining that Garak's leukocytes were altered, she suggested synthesizing more. Bashir said that would take too long, so she suggested re-activating the implant to keep him alive, but Garak wouldn't allow it. Instead, she kept him comfortable while Bashir left to get information from Enabran Tain. (DS9: "The Wire")

In 2371, Jabara assisted Bashir with Vedek Bareil after a docking accident severely injured him. (DS9: "Life Support")

Later in 2371, Bashir was attacked by a Lethean criminal, Altovar. While he was arrested soon after, Jabara looked after Bashir in the infirmary until he woke up. Jabara's figure also was used by Altovar in the illusion Bashir was trapped in. She was a nurse to Bashir's sense of professionalism and skill, represented by the figure of Sisko. (DS9: "Distant Voices")
