Jacob Kogan (born 28 May 1995; age 28) is an American actor of Russian ancestry who played the young Spock in the 2009 film, Star Trek. [1] Hailing from New York City, New York, he currently attends a private school. In addition to acting, he also plays guitar and the piano. [2]
Kogan broke into acting when he was asked to audition for a Lasse Hallström film. The film ultimately lost funding and was scrapped, but Kogan continued to pursue an acting career. He became a regular on the MTV2 sketch comedy series Wonder Showzen, which aired in 2005 and 2006. He has since acquired recognition for playing the title role in the 2007 film Joshua, about a mentally-disturbed 9-year-old boy whose psychotic behavior begins to tear his wealthy family apart. This film also features one-time Star Trek: Voyager guest star Michael McKean.
In September 2007, Kogan completed filming on an independent film called Wherever You Are, expected for release in 2008. [3] [4] This film co-stars Star Trek: Deep Space Nine guest actor Josh Pais as a relative of Kogan's character.
