James Gleason (born 30 September 1952; age 71) is an American actor born in New York City.

His Hollywood acting career began in the late-1970s with a role in The World's Greatest Lover (1977). Around this time, he joined an improv comedy troupe in Los Angeles called "Groundlings", which he was a member of from 1977-81. Other notable members have included Phil Hartman, Lisa Kudrow, Jon Lovitz, Paul Reubens (aka Pee Wee Herman), Will Ferrell, Craig T. Nelson, and Pat Morita.

He appeared in several television shows, including Quantum Leap (with Dean Stockwell, Scott Bakula, Brian George, and Richard Merson), The Adventures of Brisco County Jr., and Touched by an Angel. Other movies he appeared in include Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993), S1m0ne (2002), and American Dreamz (2006).

In 1992, he appeared as Dr. Apollinaire in TNG: "Time's Arrow, Part II".
