Joe Knowland (26 July 1930 –) is an American actor.
His first Hollywood role was as a Guard in Escape from Alcatraz (1979), and he played several small roles before playing an Antique Store Owner in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home (1986). In this role, he purchased a pair of glasses from James T. Kirk that had been given to him for his birthday by Dr. McCoy.
He and his wife Dee co-chaired a board to finance the restoration of the Paramount Theatre of the Arts. He also served on the Oakland Chanmber of Commerce, and a few college boards. In addition, he is a former editor and publisher of the Oakland Tribue, and has since become a real estate agent.
