John Bruno directed the sixth season Star Trek: Voyager episodes "Tinker, Tenor, Doctor, Spy" and "Fury". He also co-wrote the episode "Life Line" with Robert Picardo.

Bruno also directed the 1999 science fiction film Virus. However, he primarily works on visual effects for films, including many from director James Cameron. He also serves as visual effects supervisor for X-Men 3, which stars Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Kelsey Grammer.
