John Hancock (4 March 194112 October 1992; age 51) was the actor who played Vice Admiral Haden in the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "The Defector" and the fourth season episode "The Wounded".

Hancock was born in Hazen, Arkansas. He started to work as an actor in the late 1960s and his film credits include the comedy sequel Airplane II: The Sequel (1982, with William Shatner, Earl Boen, Louis Giambalvo, Sam Anderson, Gary Faga, Louise Sorel, Bruce French, Marcy Lafferty, Dennis Howard, John Paragon, Elisa Goodman, and John Vernon) and the romance 10 (1979, with Denise Crosby, Lisa Chess, Michael Champion, Jeanetta Arnette and William Lucking).
