Joleg.

Joleg was a prisoner aboard a Nygean prison ship whose crew was rescued from destruction by the USS Voyager in 2377. He was a Benkaran, whose people were ruled by the Nygeans. He struck up a friendship with Neelix, told him that he had been sentenced to death for a crime he claimed he didn't commit. Joleg said that he ended up among the condemned because he was found in the vicinity of a murder, and was arrested and convicted simply because he is Benkaran. Neelix said that he would help Joleg make an appeal for clemency to the victim's family. Joleg asked Neelix to send a letter to his brother. The letter helped the brother track down Voyager, so that Joleg's brother could attempt to free him. During the attack Joleg took the Nygean Warden hostage and was going to kill him. He was stopped by Iko. The subsequent jailbreak was thwarted, and Joleg was later executed. (VOY: "Repentance")
