He played Quark's cousin Gaila in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes "Business as Usual" and "The Magnificent Ferengi". Pais played Raphael in the 1990 movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (with Michelan Sisti, James Saito and Brian Tochi). He was the only actor to wear the costume and also voice his character.
Pais also starred in several popular films, such as Scream 3 (with Beth Toussaint), A Beautiful Mind (with Christopher Plummer) and Phone Booth (with James MacDonald and Dell Yount).
His more recent motion picture credits include Confess (2005), in which he starred with fellow DS9 guest star William Sadler. Also in that year, he starred with Rene Auberjonois' son, Remy, in The Reality Trap.
In 1998, he guest-starred in the Homicide: Life on the Street episode "Shaggy Dog, City Goat". Michelle Forbes was a main cast member of the show from 1996 to 1998.
