Judi Brown was the script supervisor for the first through fifth seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and returned for the seventh. She was also script supervisor on Star Trek Generations, Star Trek: First Contact, and Star Trek: Insurrection. Later, she and Jan Rudolph alternated as script supervisor for the third and fourth seasons of Star Trek: Enterprise.

As a member of DS9's production staff, Brown's name is listed on the dedication plaques for the USS Defiant and the USS São Paulo, although it is spelled as Judy Brown. Her name was also listed on the dedication plaques for the USS Enterprise-E and the USS Valiant as Judi Brown.

Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens wrote: "The script supervisor for Deep Space Nine is most often Judi Brown—a woman with an enormous talent for detail and the ability to keep accurate notes in fast-paced situations." (The Making of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, p. 209)

Prior to her work on Star Trek, Brown was a script supervisor for projects such as the 1982 film Tex (starring Jim Metzler), the 1984 TV movie The Cowboy and the Ballerina (starring Antoinette Bower and Christopher Lloyd), and the TV shows Moonlighting and Alien Nation (the latter series starred Gary Graham, Eric Pierpoint, and Michele Scarabelli). More recently, she worked with director Jonathan Frakes not only on two Star Trek films but on Roswell and Clockstoppers She was also script supervisor for the cult 2004 puppet comedy Team America: World Police.
