The Justman was a Federation Type 6 shuttlecraft that was in service with Starfleet in the mid-24th century, attached to the USS Enterprise-D. It was shuttle number 03.

In 2369, the Justman was modified with metaphasic shielding developed by the Ferengi scientist Dr. Reyga. Although the tests were initially sabotaged by the Takaran scientist Dr. Jo'Bril, Dr. Beverly Crusher later successfully piloted the Justman through the corona of the star Vaytan, proving that the metaphasic shielding worked. (TNG: "Suspicions")

The Justman was parked in the Enterprise-D's shuttlebay during the investigation of Captain Picard's apparent death in 2370. A mercenary raiding party used the shuttle's transporter to get the final piece of the Vulcan psionic weapon from the Klingon Koral. (TNG: "Gambit, Part II")

According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia (4th ed., vol. 1, p. 395), the Justman was the shuttle loaned to James Moriarty and Regina Barthalomew in a holographic simulation, so they could travel the galaxy together. Furthermore, the authors of this reference work stated, "The full-sized shuttlecraft filmed on stage was labeled "Justman", although a different shuttle design was seen in the visual-effects scenes of a miniature shuttle in flight."
The shuttlecraft Justman was named by Executive Producer Rick Berman, in honor of Producer Robert H. Justman, thereby recognizing the latter Star Trek production staffer's contributions to both Star Trek: The Original Series and The Next Generation. (Encyclopedia 4th ed., vol. 1, p. 395; Star Trek: The Next Generation - The Continuing Mission 1st ed., p. 15)
