After reviewing The Doctor's work Photons Be Free, Ardon Broht told him that he could be the next K'Ratak or a modern Leo Tolstoy. (VOY: "Author, Author")
"Author, Author" co-writer Mike Sussman made the reference to K'Ratak as an homage to "The Measure Of A Man"," as both episodes revolved around the rights of artificial lifeforms (holograms in the VOY episode, and androids - specifically, Data - in the TNG episode.)
The Star Trek Customizable Card Game names a Klingon Bird-of-Prey after this author.
