Katharyn Powers (born 23 July 1943; age 80) is a television writer who wrote the stories for the Star Trek: The Next Generation first season episode "Code of Honor" and the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine first season episode "Past Prologue". For "Code of Honor" she collaborated with Michael Baron. They were both interviewed by Edward Gross for the article "Writers Katharyn Powers & Michael Baron – Inside Code of Honor" for The Official Star Trek: The Next Generation Magazine issue 2, pp. 59-62.

Powers is a fan of Star Trek: The Original Series and bought her first television to watch the series. At this time she was working as an actress in New York. She met Dorothy Fontana while working with her on the television series Logan's Run and Fantastic Journey (which starred Ike Eisenmann) in the late 1970s and received a call from Fontana during the pre-production for The Next Generation. Powers also wrote for television series such as Kung Fu, How the West Was Won, Young Pioneers, Petrocelli, Fantasy Island, and Airwolf as well as several television movies.

Later in her career, Powers wrote almost a dozen episodes of the television incarnation of Stargate SG-1 and worked as a story consultant on the series between 1997 and 1998. In 2005 she worked as associate producer on the horror comedy The Naked Monster.
