Kathryn S. Eisenstein is a casting director who, along with Nan Dutton, was responsible for casting the series regulars of Star Trek: Voyager as well as the other actors who appeared in that show's pilot, "Caretaker". She and Dutton received "Original Casting" credit in subsequent episodes of the first season through "Prime Factors", after which Eisenstein's credit was removed.

Voyager was Eisenstein's first work as Casting Director. She had previously worked as a Casting Assistant or Casting Associate on productions such as the TV movies One Special Victor (starring John Larroquette) and Royce (starring Miguel Ferrer) and the Ben Stiller film Reality Bites (featuring Bill Bolender and Andy Dick). She later worked as a casting associate on such films as The People vs. Larry Flynt, Gattaca, As Good As It Gets, Out of Sight, and Man on the Moon.

Eisenstein was one of the casting directors for Bryan Singer's 1998 film Apt Pupil, which featured veteran Star Trek performer Bruce Davison. Her other credits as Casting Director consist primarily of made-for-TV movies, including 1997's Before Women Had Wings (starring John Savage) and 2001's Follow the Stars Home (featuring Tim Ransom). As a casting director on the 2002 TV movie My Sister's Keeper, Eisenstein received an Artios Award nomination for Best Casting for TV Movie of the Week from the Casting Society of America.
