O'Brien's Kayaking-Gear
Kayaking was a recreational activity that involved the use of a kayak for moving across water.
Miles O'Brien was especially fond of whitewater kayaking in a holoprogram in Quark's holosuites on Deep Space 9. Although he dislocated his shoulder several times, he explained his fascination of the activity, despite the accidents, was that the river "called to him". He was also fond of the challenge. (DS9: "Change of Heart", "Inquisition")
The program itself was quite challenging and O'Brien had never been able to complete it, as of mid-2371. He would often sing to keep rhythm and was especially fond of Louie, Louie. (DS9: "Heart of Stone")
Miles O'Brien started kayaking in 2366, on the holodecks on the USS Enterprise-D. (TNG: "Transfigurations")
O'Brien often invited Odo into his kayaking program. The Changeling found it to be "really quite enjoyable". Both Odo and the Krajensky Changeling knew that he had once forgot to bring a fork. (DS9: "Heart of Stone", "The Adversary")
