Kela was a Trill and the father of Jadzia, who eventually became the eighth host of the Dax symbiont and a part of the House of Martok. (DS9: "You Are Cordially Invited", "Penumbra")
Kela was himself unjoined, like his wife and other daughter, but still led a happy and productive life. (DS9: "Invasive Procedures")
