Kelemane, son of Kelemane, was a Protector on a planet that USS Voyager visited and became caught in its orbit in 2376. The planet rotated at a differential space-time rate that made time pass more quickly there than on Voyager. When Voyager tried to break orbit, it caused dangerous gravitational shifts on the planet.
Kelemane's ancestors believed that Voyager was either an angry deity that shook their planet or a new star. He believed that there was life on this star and decided to attempt to contact the star's protector. He planned on asking the protector of Voyager to stop the gravitational shift. He ordered a cleric to compose a letter and sent the letter up in a hot air balloon. (VOY: "Blink of an Eye")
