Khefka IV was the fourth planet in the Khefka system. This world was the location of a Federation Consulate in the mid-24th century.
Verad was stationed there as a communications clerk at some point before 2370, and he took a native called Mareel under his care, rescuing her from the rough street-life on the planet, and taking her with him when he was recalled to Trill. (DS9: "Invasive Procedures")
Robert Hewitt Wolfe named this planet after Franz Kafka. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Companion, p. 88)
