In 2372, a ship of this type crashed in a mountainous region on Galorda Prime and all 440 people aboard were killed.
Three months later, another civilian transport was used in a failed plot by the Empire to frame Lieutenant Commander Worf and extradite him to Qo'noS.
In the ploy, the ship, while under cloak, had apparently blundered into a battle between the USS Defiant, a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, and a K't'inga-class battle cruiser. The transport decloaked in front of the Defiant just as Worf ordered the firing of quantum torpedoes, accidentally destroying it.
