Lance LeGault (2 May 193510 September 2012; age 77) was the actor who appeared as K'Temoc in the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "The Emissary".

LeGault is probably best known for his recurring role as Colonel Decker on the television series The A-Team, starring Dwight Schultz, Melinda Culea, and William Lucking.

Biography[]

LeGault grew up in Chillicothe, Illinois and graduated from Chillicothe Township High School in 1955.

LeGault was a personal friend of Elvis Presley, and served as his stand-in and stunt double in four films, as well as playing smaller roles in them: Girls! Girls! Girls! (1962, with Laurel Goodwin, David Armstrong, and Frank Atienza), Viva Las Vegas (1964, with Terri Garr, Pete Kellett, William Meader, and Edwin Rochelle), Kissin' Cousins (1964, with Yvonne Craig, Teri Garr, and Carey Foster, directed by Gene Nelson), and Roustabout (1964, with Marianna Hill, K.L. Smith, Teri Garr, and Carey Foster). He also played trombone in Elvis' 1968 Comeback Special.

With his tall, lean, compact build, strong, intense and commanding screen presence, and highly distinctive low, deep, bass voice, LeGault wws frequently cast as various stern and severe military types in both movies and television programs, alike. His most memorable films include Catch My Soul (1974), French Quarter (1978), Coma (1978), The Gambler (1974), Fast-Walking (1982) and Nightmare Beach (1989).

His other films include Stripes (1981, co-starring William Lucking and John Larroquette) and a supporting role in the thriller Blackout (1996, with Brad Dourif, Marta Dubois, Jeremy Roberts, Brad Greenquist, Tom Poster, Chip Heller, James MacDonald, and Azalea Davila). He made memorable guest appearances in the original 1978 Battlestar Galactica series, alongside John Colicos, Anthony De Longis, and John Hoyt, and one time directed by Winrich Kolbe. He also had recurring roles in Dynasty (starring Joan Collins), and Magnum, P.I..

LeGault had recurring parts on several TV shows in the 80s: outstanding as the cunning and antagonistic Colonel Roderick Decker on The A-Team (1983), Colonel "Buck" Greene on Magnum P.I. (1980) and rugged cowboy bounty hunter Alamo Joe Rogan on Werewolf (1987).

Among the many TV shows LeGault had guest spots on are Land of the Giants (1968), Gunsmoke (1955), Wonder Woman (1975), Barbary Coast (1975), The Rockford Files (1974), The Incredible Hulk (1978), Battlestar Galactica (1978), The Dukes of Hazzard (1979), Dallas (1978), Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979), Voyagers! (1982), Knight Rider (1982), Airwolf (1984), Murder, She Wrote (1984), MacGyver (1985), Major Dad (1989) and Quantum Leap (1989).

Outside acting[]

LeGault also worked as a lounge and nightclub singer (he even recorded a self-titled album in 1970). In addition, he did voice work for cartoons and video games as well as the narrator of the tour audiotape for Elvis Presley's Graceland Mansion and Museum in Memphis, Tennessee. He lived on a ranch in California.

LeGault died on Monday, 10 September 2012, at his home in Los Angeles at the age of 77, survived by his wife of 35 years Mary and their four children Mary, Teresa, Marcus and Lance. [1](X)
