Landing thrusters are propulsion devices which are used in the event a starship must land on a planet or space station surface. Usually, structure-stable ships like the NX-class or Intrepid-class have these. Without the landing thrusters, landing may have been rough or dangerous. On the USS Voyager, one mission requiring the ship to land was on the Demon class planet. (VOY: "Demon")

The Enolian transport ship on which Jonathan Archer and Trip Tucker once found themselves also had landing thrusters. (ENT: "Canamar")
