Lieutenant Larry Matson was a male Human Starfleet officer who lived during the mid-23rd century. He served in the command division aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk, during his historic five-year mission.
In 2266, Matson answered a call in the recreation room from engineering by Kevin Riley, who was attempting to appease his loneliness. He assumed Riley must have done something bad to pull a solo assignment in engineering.
Matson then listened as Lieutenant Uhura sang "Beyond Antares" for Riley. (TOS: "The Conscience of the King")
Larry Matson was played by David-Troy.
In the final revised draft script of "The Conscience of the King", Matson was described as "a contemporary" of Riley, though the sentence went on to suggest Matson was "perhaps a few years younger."
