Lauritson solid 451 was a type of explosive. It was used for the emergency ignition of microfusion devices. This compound was manufactured in 2.7 kg slugs for use in Type VI reactors. It was not recommended that this compound be used in high temperature (exceeding 120 Celsius) or radiation environments because of relatively low pl cohesion. In 2367, this explosive was stored on aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise-D.

In that year, Lauritson solid 451 was on a list of explosives that Lieutenant Commander Data and Counselor Deanna Troi searched through in an attempt to find one that could produce enough energy to release the USS Enterprise-D and an alien ship from the Tyken's Rift. (TNG: "Night Terrors")

This compound was named after the producer/director Peter Lauritson. [[1]]
