He wrote the Pocket TOS novel The Abode of Life.
Stein was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a good friend of Robert Heinlein, and a keen amateur model rocketeer. Heinlein's Have Space Suit – Will Travel is dedicated to Stine and his wife. Much of his science fiction was written for children, and he wrote extensively on real world space exploration and model rocketry.
