Los Angeles (or simply L.A.) was an Earth city on the west coast of North America.

In 1996, the Headquarters of Chronowerx was located in L.A. Tuvok commented that the thermal and ultraviolet radiation in California, where L.A. was located, were at hazardous levels at that time.

In 2047, the Hermosa Earthquake caused the area around the city to sink under 200 meters of water, and it then became the planet's largest coral reef. (VOY: "Future's End" and "Future's End, Part II")

It is unclear how much of Los Angeles was destroyed in the earthquake - Janeway may have been referring to the coastal suburbs only. But with an average elevation of 275 feet from lowest point to highest peak, a cataclysmic descent of 656 feet (200 meters) below sea level does not bode well for the greater Los Angeles area. Certainly, the city has not been mentioned as existing in the 24th century.
