The Māori are the native inhabitants of New Zealand.
In the 1990s, Chris Brynner received a Māori tribal tattoo, but he had it removed to "look just like the rest of the drones". (DS9: "Past Tense, Part I")
- The Māori are a Pacific island culture native to Hawaiki, the mythical homeland from which all Pacific island cultures originated. The Māori supposedly sailed to Aotearoa (New Zealand) in canoes called Whakas. Some of these were named Matatua, Aotea, Tainui, and Te Arawa. It is interesting to note that not one full blooded Māori is alive today.
