Maranga IV was the fourth planet in the Maranga planetary system. This was the location of a Klingon outpost. Maranga IV was close the border of the Federation, from which it was located on the far side of the Vodrey Nebula.
In 2370, the USS Enterprise-D visited Maranga IV to attend the Kot'baval Festival. While on the surface, Worf was apparently attacked by forces loyal to the House of Duras. However, the attack was actually arranged by a future version of Alexander, who had disguised himself as K'mtar with the intention of changing the past. (TNG: "Firstborn")
