Marc Garneau was a 20th century Canadian astronaut in NASA's Space Shuttle program. He was a crewmember on STS-41G.
In 2063, the assignment patch for this mission was on display in the Crash-n-Burn Bar. This patch bore the astronaut's last name and the flag of Canada. (ENT: "First Flight")
Marc Garneau was the first Canadian in space. He later served as President of the Canadian Space Agency and is currently a Member of Parliament.
The novels Federation and The Fall of Terok Nor (both by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens) discussed a Federation starship named the USS Garneau. The latter novel stated that the Garneau was Akira-class.
