In 2328, Stimson booked passage aboard the SS Manila. He boarded the transport at Balder's Planet, bound for Epsilon West IV. The record of this voyage were accessed by Lieutenant Commander Data aboard the USS Enterprise-D in 2370 by reviewing this data in the commercial transport database. (TNG: "Inheritance")

Stimson was listed in a USS Voyager crew manifest viewed by Captain Kathryn Janeway in 2371. (VOY: "Projections" set art)

He was part of the Starfleet Research and Development team that built the USS Prometheus. As such, his name was listed on that starship's dedication plaque. (VOY: "Message in a Bottle" set art)

In an alternate timeline, Stimson was listed as part of Starfleet Advanced Technologies on the dedication plaque of the USS Pasteur. (TNG: "All Good Things..." set artwork)

Stimson was named after special effects artist Mark Stimson.
