Marvin Rush

Marvin V. Rush

Marvin V. Rush worked as a director of photography on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. Rush Dilithium Crystals on Deep Space 9's Promenade was named after him.

Rush also occasionally worked as a director. Joe Chess acted as director of photography for "The Host" while Doug Knapp took over for Rush when he directed episodes of Voyager. By the time of Enterprise, it was decided that Rush had enough experience to act as both director and director of photography on the same episode. He was nominated for an ASC Award for "Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography in Regular Series" for his work on DS9: "Crossover".

In addition, Rush has been nominated for two Emmy Awards for his work on Star Trek. His first was for the TNG episode "Family", while the second was for Voyager's "Heroes and Demons".
