Melissa Scott (born 7 August 1960; age 63) is a Star Trek author.
Scott was born at Little Rock in Arkansas. She attended Harvard and Brandeis. She is an LGBT activist, and co-wrote some material with her partner Lisa A. Barnett who she lived with for 27 years before her death.
She has written several non-Trek SF novel series including Silence Leigh, Astreiant and Dreamships. She has also written tie-ins to Stargate Atlantis.
