Michael J. Anderson (credited for his Star Trek appearance as Michael John Anderson) was born on 31st October 1953. He played Rumpelstiltskin in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "If Wishes Were Horses".

He has made his career playing "small characters" with other guest appearances in The X-Files and Twin Peaks. In that series he played "The Man From Another Place" in the famous backwards-talking dream sequences. He also appeared in the series' prequel movie Fire Walk With Me. He is now perhaps best known as Samson in "Carnivàle".

In 1997 he starred in Warriors of Virtue with Tom Towles and Lee Arenberg. A year later, he appeared with John Savage in Club Vampire.

In 2001, he worked with David Lynch again, appearing in the motion picture Mulholland Dr. Michael Fairman and Geno Silva also starred.
