Mona Lisa

A sketch of Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa is a painting by the Human Leonardo da Vinci during the 15th century in Europe on Earth. The subject's enigmatic smile has engaged viewers for centuries, and in the 21st century the painting was on display at the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

By the 24th century, Kivas Fajo was in possession of the Mona Lisa, and it was one of the centerpieces of his illegal collection. During his captivity, Data tried to mimic the Mona Lisa's famous smile. After the lieutenant's return to the USS Enterprise-D, Fajo's collection was confiscated and the Mona Lisa returned. The painting was also found among the relics in Kathryn Janeway's da Vinci holodeck holo-program, (VOY: "The Raven") as was a sketch of the Mona Lisa. (VOY: "Scorpion")

The Mona Lisa replica was sold for US$1,920 at the 40 Years of Star Trek: The Collection auction. At the start of bidding for this item, the auctioneer joked that he had waited his whole career to sell this lot. [1]
