"They're all from moons! Look at them. Probably talking about tides and werewolves"

A moon or natural satellite was a planetary body that orbited a planet. (TOS: "The Changeling"; Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country; VOY: "Memorial"; DS9: "Valiant") Some planets, such as Vulcan, did not have moons. (TOS: "The Man Trap")

Moons varied greatly in size and physical characteristics. They ranged from small asteroid-like objects, such as Mars' moon Deimos, to planet-sized bodies with their own ecosystems, such as Andoria and Bajor's moon Jeraddo. (DS9: "Progress"; ENT: "The Aenar")

More massive moons may also strongly influence their primary planet, as they exert gravitational forces that are strong enough to affect the stability of the inclination of the planet's rotation axis and thereby its seasons, as was the case with Earth's moon Luna.

Gaila was able to buy his own moon with the income he made from selling weapons. Quark was envious of this for years. In 2373, when Quark began selling weapons with Gaila and Hagath, his cousin told him that after a year of doing so, he would be able to buy his own moon. (DS9: "Civil Defense", "The Way of the Warrior", "Business as Usual")

In 2401, moon was listed as one of the results in Raffaela Musiker's search for the "red lady". (PIC: "The Next Generation")

In an alternate timeline, Quark was able to fulfill his dream and bought his own moon after selling his bar to Morn. (DS9: "The Visitor")
