A mouse was a small rodent found on Earth, as well as a variety of other worlds.

Mice are often a favorite food of certain reptile species. In particular, Xindi-Reptilians were fond of eating live mice. (ENT: "Zero Hour")

In 2265, after hearing Hikaru Sulu's mathematical estimation of the rate Gary Mitchell's powers would increase by, Spock told James T. Kirk that in a month, Mitchell would have as much in common with the rest of the crew of the USS Enterprise as that same crew now would have with a ship of white mice.(TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")

In 2266, Spock likened the Onlies (with the exception of Miri) to mice, because they were highly elusive and knew their homeworld too well to be approached by him. (TOS: "Miri")

A mouse was aboard space station Regula I in the year 2285, which startled Dr. Leonard McCoy. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)

Cats were traditionally known to chase mice. As of 2370, Data's cat Spot had never encountered a mouse or any other form of rodent, which once left Data at a loss to explain what the cat was dreaming about. (TNG: "Phantasms")

The cat-and-mouse relationship eventually lent itself to the phrase "cat-and-mouse game", when one individual or group persistently chases another. (TOS: "Friday's Child", "The Squire of Gothos"; TAS: "Once Upon a Planet"; VOY: "Equinox, Part II")

In response to a Hirogen hunter's boasting in 2374, Tom Paris said that he once tracked a mouse through Jefferies tube 32. (VOY: "Prey")

Types of mice[]

The final draft script of ENT: "Damage" referred to a Droxin field mouse, though that type of mouse is not referenced in canon.
