A movie theater was a facility designed for the viewing of movies by the public. These facilities would often offer food such as popcorn to be consumed during the movie.
A movie theater was set up in the mess hall for the crew's rest time aboard Enterprise NX-01. The theater usually showed "classic" black and white movies. Trip Tucker was the one who usually set up the movie nights for the crew. Enterprise had 50,000 movies in its database. (ENT: "Cold Front")
There was an old movie theater near where Trip Tucker and his sister grew up in Florida, where they sometimes went as children. It was destroyed in the Xindi Attack on Earth in 2153. (ENT: "The Expanse")
