Nan Dutton, CSA (born 12 August 1952; age 71) was casting director for the Star Trek: Voyager first season episode "Caretaker", along with Kathryn S. Eisenstein. As such, she and Eisenstein were responsible for casting the show's regular actors. They temporarly replaced regular casting director Junie Lowry-Johnson, who gave birth to her twins, and her assistant Ron Surma, who was busy working on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. [1] After the pilot, Lowry-Johnson and Surma took over casting duties, while Dutton and Eistenstein received "Original Casting" credit. After the episode "Prime Factors", only Dutton received credit for the show's original casting.

Among the performers cast in this film were Star Trek alumni Jeff Corey, Ellen Geer, Virginia Madsen, David Ogden Stiers, Kenneth Tigar, and Ian Wolfe. That same year, she was a casting director on Nine 1/2 Weeks, along with Mary Jo Slater.

Among the actors she helped win regular roles on this series was Corbin Bernsen and Alfre Woodard also received a role in the pilot. Afterward, Dutton moved on to the series MacGyver and In the Heat of the Night. She cast two more films, 1988's The Wrong Guys and 1989's Out Cold (with the latter featuring Terri Garr and Bruce McGill), before she began casting almost exclusively for television.

Besides Voyager, Dutton did casting work for such television series as The Naked Truth, Nash Bridges, and Millennium. She earned an Artios nomination from the CSA for her work on the short-lived ABC series Equal Justice and won her second Artios for the pilot of another short-lived series EZ Streets. Her TV movie casting credits include Cast the First Stone (featuring Salome Jens, Jack Kehler and Richard Riehle), False Arrest (featuring Brian Bonsall, Dennis Christopher, and Jeremy Roberts), In Broad Daylight (featuring John Anderson and Bill Bolender), Exclusive (starring Ed Begley, Jr. and Michael Nouri), Fugitive Nights: Danger in the Desert (featuring Barbara Babcock, Teri Garr, and Tony Jay), Children of the Dark (starring Jim Beaver, David Graf, Lenore Kasdorf, Thomas Kopache, Glenn Morshower, Natalia Nogulich, Eric Pierpoint and Bill Smitrovich), Justice in a Small Town (with Terry O'Quinn and Dean Stockwell), Visitors of the Night (starring Stephen McHattie), Stranger in My Home (starring Robert Curtis Brown, Daniel Hugh Kelly and Leigh Taylor-Young and In the Company of Spies (starring Clancy Brown, Len Cariou and Alice Krige).
