The New Zealand Rehabilitation Colony was a penal colony located on the Earth island of New Zealand, east of the continent of Australia. Much like all rehabilitation colonies, this location was used to treat inmates and was a possible location for Maquis prisoners to be placed.
Tom Paris served time in the New Zealand Rehabilitation Colony until he was granted removal and assigned to the USS Voyager as observer by permission of Captain Kathryn Janeway.
