Newell Tarrant (28 February 191127 January 2000; age 88) played Commander Rogerson, the Command Duty Officer of the USS Enterprise, in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. His character was a 20th century United States Navy Commander who was a highly decorated flight officer, based on the awards visable on his uniform.

Terrant's few other acting credits include appearing as a doctor in three episodes of Hawaii Five-O, including one with Ricardo Montalban and another with David Opatoshu. He also appeared in an episode of Remington Steele with Michael Keenan and had roles in the films Death House (1987, with Michael Pataki), Happy Hour (also 1987), and Infinity (1991).
