The Norcadians are an advanced humanoid species native to Norcadia Prime in the Delta Quadrant. The planetoid has a population of over 260 million. The Norcadian system neighbours the Pendari system. The Norcadians invented the popular, much watched and violent martial arts sport of tsunkatse. The Norcadian government overlooks the actions of the sport's controller Penk, who captures various humanoids and forces them to fight in tsunkatse matches, the proceeds of which constitute a large part of the planetoid's revenue.
The Borg designation for Norcadians is Species 689. A Norcadian girl named Mezoti was assimilated by the Borg, but was later rescued by the crew of the USS Voyager after the Borg ship she was on was disabled by a genetically engineered pathogen created by the Brunali
- The obvious differences between Penk and Mezoti have not been addressed, however, it could easily be related to sex or age.
