The Old City Station is often described as the hind-end of space.
Commander Uhura was posted to the transporter room with "Mr. Adventure" and illegally beamed Dr. McCoy, Kirk and Sulu to the USS Enterprise. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)
- One can only assume by the name that this is a ground-based station which employed Starfleet personnel for transporter operation, if not a Starfleet facility itself. Based on the name, it is probably located in an old part of a city, likely San Francisco. It would also appear to be the facility where McCoy was being held by Federation security, as the elevator that the group disembarked from looked similar to the same one used to exit the holding cell area.
