Omicron Theta

Omicron Theta is a planet in the Omicron Theta star system, the former host to an Earth colony until it was annihilated by the Crystalline Entity in 2338. The planet is orbited by two moons.

Raymond Marr went on an archaeological dig in the mountains of Omicron Theta, this indicates the existence of a historical civilization on the planet.

This was the planet on which Dr. Noonien Soong and his wife Juliana perfected the positronic brain and successfully created a series of Soong-type androids including Data and Lore. (TNG: "Datalore", "Silicon Avatar", "Inheritance")

When the Crystalline Entity attacked Omicron Theta, a distress call was sent from the planet before all life on it was eradicated; the USS Tripoli was the only starship to respond but arrived too late, discovering a lifeless world. However, the Tripoli crew discovered the deactivated Soong-type android, Data, and reactivated him.

Along with finding Data, the Tripoli crew found the planet to be devoid of all life and with brown plants. An analysis by an away team from the USS Enterprise-D found the planet's soil to have no decay and bacteria. They also ascertained that Omicron Theta's plants were dead and not dormant.
