Pallas 14 system

The Pallas 14 system was a remote binary system with three planets. The second planet Mantilles was colonized prior to 2269 by the Federation. The outermost planet was Alondra, and the innermost planet was Bezride. The system was located at the outer fringe of the Milky Way Galaxy (TAS: "One of Our Planets Is Missing") The location of Pallas 14 in the Milky Way Galaxy was depicted in "The Explored Galaxy" star chart. History

In 2269, Mantilles was the most remote inhabited planet of the Federation. The planet's governor was Robert Wesley, a retired Starfleet commodore. Mantilles had a population of 82 million.

During that year, the system was invaded by a huge cosmic cloud creature, which began to consume the system. After consuming Alondra, the cloud creature threatened to engulf Mantilles. It was convinced by the crew of the USS Enterprise to leave the galaxy. (TAS: "One of Our Planets Is Missing")

The planet Mantilles

In "The Explored Galaxy" star chart, the Pallas 14 system was located between the Tholian Assembly and Romulus. According to dialog in DS9: "Call to Arms", the two were Alpha Quadrant powers.

According to The Worlds of the Federation (p. 58), the innermost planet was called Bezaride. It was a Mars-like world. Startrek.com had an alternate spelling, Bezride, for this world. [1]
