The Pennington School was a learning institution located in Wellington, New Zealand.

In an alternate 2372, after his father died, Jake Sisko considered again to join the Pennington school. Nog was happy about this decision because they would both stay on Earth. Although Jake still had his doubts, he eventually graduated several years later. (DS9: "The Visitor")
Background
While this school is actually located in New Jersey, Victoria University of Wellington, in New Zealand, does in reality have its own well-known creative writing program. Wellington-based New Zealand fan writer, fanzine editor and convention organizer, Lana Pennington-Brown, who was befriended by several of the production staff of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, inspired the name of the fictitious educational institution.
The Star Trek: Vanguard series of novels features a 23rd century journalist named Tim Pennington, after whom the Pennington School is presumably named.
