Persis Khambatta (2 October 1950 – 18 August 1998; age 47) was born in Bombay, India. She became Miss India in 1965, and later starred in a number of television shows and movies, including Star Trek: The Motion Picture as Lieutenant Ilia. She died at age 47, of a heart attack.
