Template:Realworld Peter J. Devlin is an Irish-American Academy Award-nominated sound mixer currently working of 2009's Star Trek. He hails from Northern Ireland. [1]
Devlin frequently works with action movie director and producer Michael Bay. Devlin received his Academy Award nominations for his sound work on two Michael Bay films, 2001's Pearl Harbor and 2007's Transformers. The latter, like Star Trek, was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. Both of Devlin's nominations were shared with sound re-recording mixers Kevin O'Donnell and Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country's Greg P. Russell.
Devlin also collaborated with Bay on the films Bad Boys (1995), Bad Boys II (2003), and the Alex Kurtzman/Roberto Orci-written The Island (2005, featuring Ethan Phillips). In addition, Devlin has collaborated with Star Trek boom operator Michael Piotrowski on the films The Skeleton Key (2005, featuring cinematography by Dan Mindel), Southland Tales (2006, starring The Rock), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007, featuring Bruce Greenwood), Frost/Nixon (2008, starring Frank Langella), and the aforementioned Transformers. Devlin and Piotrowski also worked together on the pilot of the CBS Paramount Television series Jericho.
Devlin's additional sound mixing credits include the films Fair Game (1995, featuring Jenette Goldstein and Christopher McDonald), Wild Things (1998, with cinematography by Jeffrey L. Kimball), Chill Factor (1999, featuring Daniel Hugh Kelly), Any Given Sunday (1999, written by John Logan), Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000), Disney's The Kid (2000, featuring Jeri Ryan), Daredevil (2003, featuring Erick Avari), Monster (2003), King Arthur (2004), and The Jane Austen Book Club (2007, edited by Maryann Brandon).
